Biography

Stamford-born Robert-John originally trained as a pianist and composer at Middlesex University and had small choral works performed at St Martin’s-in-the-Fields church and Lincoln and Winchester Cathedrals. He later trained as a singer, attending the Birmingham Conservatoire as a postgraduate, scoring a distinction and winning the PGDip course prize.

Robert-John is very active as a soloist both as a recitalist and with choral societies, performing many Messiahs, Creations and Crucifixions over the past few years whilst taking some time away from opera to help raise his young son. Recent projects have included a programmatic recital of songs and poems by those affected by The Great War called “A Ploughman’s Tale” and there are several performances of Winterreise with pianist Fraser Graham lined up for 2015 and 2016. He is currently coached by John Graham Hall. Keep up to date at www.robertjohnedwards.co.uk
