Biography



GEOFFREY BURFORD was raised in northwest London. He attended Trinity College of Music, first as a Junior Exhibitioner (‘Saturday Student’) and then Full Time, to study Piano, Harpsichord and Organ, gaining performing diplomas and the London University Bachelor of Music degree. His professional life is spent mostly with singers: as an accompanist for concerts, auditions, rehearsals and singing lessons, as well as coaching singers in their repertoire. In these respects he has been associated with such teachers as Audrey Langford and Andrew Field, Josephine Veasey, Russell Smythe and Jennifer Dakin, and accompanies Bonaventura Bottone and also Kathryn Harries in concert at home and abroad.

He has also been involved in BBC Radio 4 Schools Music broadcasting, having made over 300 broadcasts.

Music Theatre has also played a part: from professional seaside Summer Shows and Pantomime, to conducting Broadway Musicals for the amateur stage. In Adult Education he has coached with Abbey Opera and the opera courses run by Birkbeck College.

To relax, he enjoys playing Chamber Music and the Piano Duet repertory with like-minded friends.
