Daryl Arambhan - Tenor


Daryl grew up in Mumbai where he sang in choirs and commenced private vocal and musical tuition. In the UK he continued his musical interests by taking lessons and singing in Male Voice and Mixed choral societies.

While developing his voice he also pursued his interests in acting by taking Screen and Stage Acting courses at Capital Screen Arts. Daryl played Snout and Cobweb in a fringe production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in which he sang a solo from Purcell’s Fairy Queen.

In March this year he played Don José in Harrow Opera’s production of Carmen.

In January this year he gave a recital at The Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, Mumbai – an institute founded by Zubin Mehta.

In August last year he took part in the summer development programme run by Co-Opera Co in which he played the Schoolmaster in a staged production of The Cunning Little Vixen.

His engagements have also included staged performances as Siegmund in an extract from the first act of Die Walküre and Faust in a scene from the first act of Boito’s Mefistofele for Opera Workout.

Daryl currently studies voice with Andrew Field and coaches with Geoffrey Burford and Richard Jackson. In addition he has participated in masterclasses with James Holmes, Jeremy Silver, Daniel Dooner, Christopher Cowell and

David Edwards.
